The concept of shopping weekends during which we can treat ourselves in several stores using discount vouchers is a popular means of marketing support used by virtually every shopping centre. However, for our client, Polus City Center, we decided to prepare discount shopping that no one will miss out on.
We built on the success of the spring campaign with the “Aprílové zľavodni” name (April Discount Days), preparing a week full of discounts called “Narodeninové zľavodni” (Birthday Discount Days) to mark the 18th anniversary of the shopping centre. Between 22 and 28 October 2018, shoppers only needed to download electronic vouchers using a QR code or collect a discount book from the information desk, and get shopping!
When we were devising the campaign, we primarily focused on a way to attract both existing and new customers to the shopping centre. Secondly, we focused on increasing sales by motivating them with discounts to make their shopping cheaper. We also tried to be different from other shopping centres, so we added a benefit in the form extending the discount days to apply to the whole week.
The campaign was deployed in outdoor formats, but we are also communicating it in the online environment. For its entire duration, we will exploit the potential of social networks, Facebook and Instagram, using posts and unconventional formats to inform people about how it progresses.
